Stainless Steel Truncated Dome

The stainless steel truncated dome follows the guidelines of ADA. ADA is the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is based on earlier landmark laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race and gender. Similarly, it is against the law to discriminate against people with disabilities. The ADA requires that all curb ramps and hazardous vehicular ways include a truncated dome detectable warning surface to provide safe access for visually impaired pedestrians from the sidewalk to a roadway. A stainless steel truncated dome with very specific dimensions are required by law and must maintain the properties that make them detectable. Just like a fifth story balcony hand rail, a detectable warning surface is a safety device that must be maintained in order to be effective. If domes wear down to the point they are no longer identifiable underfoot the public is left at risk.

Two choices are left to the property owner: choose a product which must be maintained on an annual basis, or select a high quality and durable warning system which is designed to withstand wear and tear and will maintain proper functions for decades. Advantage Tactile Systems has developed a stainless steel truncated dome warning surface which is specifically intended to endure snow plow and fork lift impacts and all sorts of heavy equipment abuse.

For piece of mind and low life cycle costs, choose a stainless steel truncated dome for your curb ramps.
